Fun in the rain:: Yakima Engagement Photographer

Yay for newly engaged Mallory & Troy! I first spoke with Mallory last week after her engagement session with a different photographer got canceled in Bellingham because of rain. {this couple is originally from Zillah but now lives in Bellingham} She said that she would be in Yakima this weekend for an engagement party and wanted to schedule a session with us! I thought for sure that the stormy weather would pass before this afternoon, but sure enough.... it started pouring down rain right before we walked out of northtown to start the session. We decided to just run with it and we would have some fun in the rain. :) Luckily Tavis and I had two umbrellas in our car, one for our pocket wizard & flash, and one to safely get them from our car to the covered loading dock... our first picture spot. (see photo below)

This couple was so easy to photograph. We had lots of ideas for them and they were totally down for whatever. I love to wander around Yakima to get inspired, and they were willing to wander right along with us. We did most of the shoot in downtown Yakima but also made a quick trip to the Arboretum because she knew that her Grandma wanted the "traditional" engagement photo in nature.

I'm glad she got ahold of me last week and we were able to fit them in this weekend! We look forward to their wedding next summer at the Silverlake Winery in Zillah. Here's a preview of their engagement collection

here's crazy Tavis laying on the ground for his shot. He's always laying places and hopping up on things, climbing trees, jumping off ledges. I swear he has springs in his feet.
