Last night we met up with this family in Terrace Heights and photographed them at three different East Valley locations! Usually when we do family sessions with kids, I will try and get a few closeups of each child first...... I've found that the beginning of the session is when they're most calm and not tired of photos yet. This baby was the exception to my rule. She was one of the best behaved and most smiley children I've ever photographed! She was just so calm, cute, sat still and laughed and smiled away at us. It was like my dream session. :) I also really loved the way Chelsy and Ben coordinated the colors of the two outfits! If you haven't noticed, I love color in photographs.
Chelsy and Ben lost their oldest child in February of 2011 while she was 2
months pregnant with their second. Elyse was two weeks away from turning
two and unexpectedly passed during her nap. I'm so glad we were able to include Elyse in these family pictures, and it's an honor that she trusted us to capture some family pictures of the four of them. You can read more about her life and story on this blog: http://elysesbeautifulstory.blogspot.com/
Enjoy the sneak peek of this cute Yakima Family :)

Welcome, Estella Grace // Yakima Family Photography
FOUR photo shoots with Amy & Saul in 16 months... I think that's a Memory Montage record! Engagement-Wedding-Maternity-Newborn. I'm happy to photograph it all! Estella Grace was born on August 8th and we photographed her and the family of 3 on the 15th at Spring Creek Homestead in Union Gap. Estella has some of the longest baby eyelashes I've ever seen! Look at these beauties:

Yakima engagement session in the mountains // Kristin + Blake
aawwww, Kristin and Blake. These two have such amazing natural chemistry that they kept themselves entertained for the whole session. We gave them some ideas for pictures but they really just went with it and made it all their own! Blake is funny- the whole session he was making faces, goofing off, and making Kristin laugh... it was perfect for photos! You can see below a few of the unprompted face making, juggling, climbing, peeking through the weeds, etc. I'm friends with Kristin from high school so we all had a fun time catching up and goofing off in the mountains while taking photos. It was a wonderful Sunday afternoon. These two are getting hitched in Elk, WA in May 2013. Happy engagement!

Engagement photos with color powder - Kanhaiya Holi Powder
This is how engagement sessions should be!!
More info about the Holi Powder: The package that we used says, "Kanhaiya Holi Colour for religious purpose product of India, Distributed by KPM Corporation, Linden NJ" Although it's very pigmented, it washes right out! I found a different brand on amazon for purchase: click here.
And here are the engagement photos from the "regular" session :)
