Review of the Spider Holster Single Camera System
Shoot from the hip! We were first attracted to the Spider system because we needed a change. In between shots at weddings or sessions, we usually hang our cameras around our necks.... but dang it's heavy! The Spider takes the weight off of the neck, and puts it at the hip in a secure and easy fashion! Tavis says it's very comfortable and easy to use. We saw this booth at WPPI this year and 3 of our photographers ended up buying one!! Read more about the Spider here.

WPPI WARNINGS!!
I knew going into the photography convention this year that it was going to be refreshing and fun, but I had no idea of the benefits that this type of encouragement can provide. Even though I love photography and love my career, all jobs become work after a while, ya know? I really needed this boost to get me excited about moving forward and growing my business! The information and inspiration of the atmosphere, classes, and trade show are invaluable. WPPI is an EXCELLENT investment into your photography business! As Tavis, Rhiann, Haley and I were sitting in classes, the wheels were turning and the ideas were just flowing. Even today, 3 days after we got home, we all still feel like we're on a WPPI cloud!!! Everyone there is a photographer so there are lots of people to bounce ideas off of and learn from. The speakers and teachers were amazing and I feel like I learned so much. The trade show was SO FUN. Not only were we able to purchase some new fun photography things, but I loved that the vendors were there to answer our questions, help us decide, and even tell us about up and coming products. Overall, WPPI has the potential of making you extremely excited and productive.... watch out! I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be a BIG year for Memory Montage Photography. Stay tuned for some exciting changes!
WPPI is something I highly reccommend to all levels of photographers. Like I said, it's an excellent investment in the business! If you're planning on attending next year, here are some realistic numbers to plan on:
- Pasco to Vegas Flight: $197 round trip, which includes all taxes, fees, & 1 carry on bag.
- MGM room $155/night, (if you split it four ways it's $40/night) 4 nights = $120
- MGM "resort fee" - $100 (if you split it four ways it's $25 each) - the resort fee covers 2 buffet tickets
- Conference Pass for all of the Platform Classes (there are about 12 platform classes) - $50 - I was able to find a WPPI Promo Code (WPGSALLE) That brought registration from $399 to $95! With the full conference pass, you get to bring one guest, which made it $50 for each of us!
- Meals: Coffee & Lunch Monday $20, Coffee & Lunch Tuesday $20, Coffee & Lunch Wednesday $20, Buffet Dinner on Wednesday $30 or free if you have the buffet ticket, Coffee & Lunch Thursday $20 = $110 for food. On Sunday, Monday & Tuesday night, WPPI had parties going on where food was included so that saved us a lot on food!
- Overall, if you are going in a group of 4, it brings the cost per person to only $500 per person! Again, it's a no-brainer. Totally worth the investment!!!
I will post later this week to showcase some of the fun things we purchased for the business!!
