Peach and gold bridal shower - DIY how-to and behind the scenes photos

Always the photographer... never the decorator... except THIS TIME I finally got to put all my creative ideas into action for a friend's bridal shower last Friday! Fontaine Estates Winery in Naches was the perfect venue for hosting the shower, it matched my color theme well and it was an elegant, well decorated space to add my details into. I got lots of compliments on the shower so I thought I would share my tips and behind the scenes decor photos.

How to design a bridal shower:
  1. Choose a theme or color pallet. Mine was peach and gold with accents of light pink.
  2. Ask the bride what she likes - We designed the menu and games based on the bride's preferences and interests
  3. Estimate the guest count to start designing tables and planning for food - Let's be honest, people are horrible at RSVPs. Some RSVP yes and don't come and others show up and never sent an RSVP. We sent out 60 invites but because it was on a Friday morning (work day) we estimated 32 would come and ended up with about 28, perfect!
  4. Start designing. You can get ideas from Pinterest and Etsy, and if you're not creative just hire people to make your stuff on Etsy! We also ordered two banners from Timber & Lace Party Design.
Bridal shower check list:
  1. FOOD (unless catered) - We did a brunch: waffle bites, quiche bites, ham & cheese croissants, scones, blueberry yogurt parfaits, strawberries and dip, fruit. Dessert: cupcakes & brownies
  2. Food utencils: plates, napkins, cups, straws, forks
  3. Decorations: We did pictures, pom poms, banners, confetti, flower centerpieces and balloons. I also decorated some of the food items like putting gold stickers on the parfait cups
  4. Gift for the bride :)
  5. Party Favors - we did sugar scrub
  6. Games and game prizes.
  7. Miscellaneous decor bag: tape, scissors, command strips, adhesive
  8. I'm probably forgetting something and you will too so leave some extra time to run home ;-)

Night before the shower:
  1. Prepare as much of the food as you can
  2. Decorate
Day of the shower:
  1. Finish preparing food
  2. Blow up Balloons
  3. Buy flowers
