Tavis and Amy photographed this beautiful family portrait session here in Yakima, WA. Sometimes as families grow and expand people move away, some go to college, others get married or have children, some get new jobs...but regardless of how busy life gets or how far apart they live, the ties of a close family always stay strong.

This is how it is for this family. They all live far apart and don't often get to do much together. They are very relaxed and  it is evident that family is very important to all of them! We absolutely love creating personalized experiences for each of our clients and telling their stories. We feel fortunate to capture moments like these. In preparing for the session, the matriarch of the family commented, "My children are my life and their children are theirs."

Shannon + Curtis || August Wedding at Sawyer Gardens

Lachelle and Keith photographed this wedding at Sawyer Gardens in Wapato, WA. It was a beautiful day, not too hot, not too windy and everyone's spirits were high. The bride, Shannon, was absolutely beautiful and her groom, Curtis, was nervously excited to see his bride walk down the isle. Throughout the morning, Shannon would try to peek through the window to see if she could see Curtis, and Curtis could hardly wait to see his bride.

Shannon was such a relaxed bride and you could tell that she was joyfully soaking in every moment of the day. She has such a fun and beautiful personality and was the epitome of a "glowing bride." Curtis is attentive, caring and committed.

Some of the best moments of the day revolved around Shannon's sons. Shannon is a very connected mom and her boys adore her! They were excited to have Curtis marry their mom because they knew he would take care of her. Her two sons acted as the best men for the day and did a fantastic job! They were true gentlemen and their toasts were so sweet. They were thoughtful, kind, respectful and genuine. They spoke from their hearts. In general, they were very impressive young men! They were continually telling their mom how beautiful she was and even dedicated songs to her. During the first dances, Shannon had a special dance with her boys. We also coordinated a "first look" with her sons in the beginning of the day. These young men truly cherish their mom.

The entire day was very family centered and the bride and groom welcomed everyone with open arms as if they were welcome them into their family.

During the cake cutting, the energy in the room was ecstatic! There were hoops and hollers and everyone could sense that a cake smash was on the way! The big surprise came though, when the bride and groom cut into the beautiful cake by Kerri's Cakes, and under the white frosting was a green and blue cake! Go Seahawks! Curtis was so surprised and Shannon grinned ear to ear! She had successfully surprised her groom. The night ended with epic dancing and, I have to say, there were a lot of people at this wedding who knew how to move it! :)

Jennifer + Mark || Hollywood Schoolhouse, Woodinville, WA

"We are all a little weird, and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love" - Dr. Seuss 

This is the quote that Jennifer's sister, her maid of honor, shared at the beginning of her toast to the bride and groom. The bride's sister went on to share, “Jennifer has always been my partner in crime and my first and forever best friend. I’ve always been Jenny’s little shadow and she has always been my greatest role model…We’ve always tried to one up each other and that has made us both better people. I can’t say enough about our sister bond. She will always be there selflessly for others. I can’t wait for what the future holds!"

Tavis and Amy photographed this wedding in Woodinville, WA at the Hollywood Schoolhouse. Even though it was pouring rain most of the day, this venue was so beautiful there were plenty of places for portraits inside. We also worked with Flowers by Tiffany, Hillcrest Bakery, Mobile Celebrations and wedding coordinator Jocelyn Lawrence of The Invisible Hostess.

This couple was a great match! They were encouraging and supportive of each other even down to each other's hobbies. For example, Mark is really into video games and so at their cake table, they had a sign that said, "You can be my player 2."  Jennifer also had a personal inscription engraved on the inside of Mark's ring.  After honeymooning in Aruba, they'll be settling into their new home in Southern California.

Congratulations Jennifer and Mark! We're excited for you two!
