Jennifer and Jason said "I DO" at Fontaine Estates Winery on July 2, 2016. The bridal party got ready for the wedding at the Hotel Maison in downtown Yakima where Tavis and I were able to capture some really great getting ready moments. The couple choose to do their first look in the Cowiche Canyon Trail. Our second location included Eschbach park and then we were off to to Fontaine Estates Winery for the wedding ceremony and reception.
Many of the wedding details held a special significance and symbolized those things most important to the couple. Jennifer and Jason are very in touch with each other's feelings and they seem to be very connected with nature. Jennifer had a "hair rope" put into her hairdo to include their love for climbing and outdoor activities. The vases that held each table's floral centerpieces were created by Jason. He had saved each of the bottles of wine that he and Jennifer had enjoyed since becoming engaged. Each wine bottle was carefully cut in half to create a vase for this special day.
Vows were very meaningful and everyone was crying. The bride received a surprise when it came time to exchange rings. Her wedding ring belonged to her great grandmother, but then Jason surprised her with a new wedding band that she didn't know was there until that exact the ceremony. She was so surprised and was brought to tears. (see photo below!) The wedding included a special Ski-ceremony. Jennifer and Jason put the boot and ski together and each member of the bridal party helped tighten the bindings.
Kerri's Cakes went above and beyond with this creative wedding cake that depicted the happy couple hiking on a mountain side. Their cake is literally the coolest I have ever seen! It's like a work of art and a real life scene of them outdoors. Almost too amazing to eat! (But they did) :)
Jennifer and Jason love their dog Nova, who has been part of their family for about a year now. Nova got to attend part of the celebration and allowed us to take some very sweet photographs.
The bride's dad sang the newlyweds a song during his toast and the crowd LOVED it :) The couple gave a special toast to their guests, as well. Jennifer told us beforehand, "We are surprising our guests (mostly the Westby family) with a sunset toast in honor of some very special family members. They say when you watch the sunset of the Pacific, a green flash blazes forth just before the dark, just for a second. Scientists believe this is how each day says goodbye."
