Star Wars Wedding // Sarah + Michael Gilbert

Red and Blue Star Wars Wedding

Sarah and Michael celebrated their marriage on May 5th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Yakima. This red and blue colored wedding had a unique theme: "Star Wars"! The Bride and Groom were actually married on May 4th in order for the wedding to coordinate even down to the date..."May the 4th be with you". Then the next day was the day to celebrate with friends! Tavis and Amy photographed the two as they were dressed from head to toe in Star Wars themed wedding attire!

The bride, Sarah handcrafted several items in her wedding -
  • Her Princess Leia styled wedding dress.
  • Michael of course had a Han Solo inspired outfit.
  • The stems on the bouquets were lightsabers.
  • Table centerpieces were made to be R2-D2 and C-3PO.
  • There was even miniature lightsaber lights strung throughout the reception venue!
One of our favorite moments throughout the day was when Sarah sang "A Thousand Years" to Michael as she walked down the aisle. The whole room began to tear up. It was such an enduring moment.

We wanted to make this day as significant as possible. Once informed their first date took place at the Yakima Cinema that helped us to capture specialized moments for the couple. We had never taken a wedding couple to the movie theatre before!

Sarah and Michael were so cute together! Their wedding was such an entertaining day to be involved with. As we were taking their portraits we would catch them sticking their tongue out at the other to made each other smile. Thank you for bringing us along on your Star Wars adventure! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert!
