Naches Wedding at American Homestead // Cari + Cody Rettke

Wedding with Fall Colors

Tavis and I photographed this fall wedding at American Homestead in Naches on October 7th. What an excellent way to start out the new season! The Bride decorated with a plethora of pumpkins that she picked up from a pumpkin farm in Sunnyside. It was the perfect October splash of color that matched up with her fall decor beautifully. Cari and Cody met at work, and even after getting married they still manage to work together! It takes two very patient people in a relationship to work alongside one another ;) Once we found that out, it became more clear how great they are as a couple. As the wedding day went on, we realized that their coworker was actually the officiant for the wedding!

Celestial Selections fit the Bride to a stunning strapless dress. She looked absolutely gorgeous! Getting Cari dressed was a very special moment and meaningful time for her mom. The tears were flowing as she helped her "baby" get dressed for the happiest day of her life. Their mother daughter relationship was one of kind.

When the time came for photos, we were off to a fun start. We put Cody out on Lover's Island for the first look, but things kept coming up in the girl's cabin. One things led to another and he was left out there waiting for about half an hour...all while he wasn't supposed to turn around. He made sure we remembered this fact all day :) We ended up having much success during the Bride and Groom portraits. The sun kept peeking behind the clouds giving us some dreamy diffused light. Especially down by the river on Lover's Island. American Homestead just offers such great locations; it truly is picturesque!

Something I haven't seen before: We saw a snake down by the river, and the Bride caught it and held it up for a minute or two! After taking a photo with the snake, it slithered away and I was left shocked that a Bride picked up a snake haha. Past experience includes Brides freaking out and totally avoiding snakes. Not this Bride!

The cake, made by Kerri's Cakes, got so many compliments from the guests! It was airbrushed, and looked legitimately like a birch tree trunk. Cascade Catering provided a delicious meal as usual. Personally, my favorite part was the caprese skewers during cocktail hour. What an amazing day for these two and all of their family and friends. Congratulations Cari and Cody!
