Naches Wedding at Fontaine Estates // Kala + Matthew McDougal

Pink and Tan Wedding

Tavis and I photographed Kala and Matt's wedding on June 23rd at Fontaine Estates in Naches. We actually first met Kala at BNI about four years ago. She is such a kind spirit! Kala and Matt make a great pair. They were together for over five years before sealing the deal! He was going to propose on the 4th of July last year...but then she poked fun at the people who propose on holidays so he decided not to at the last minute. Obviously she said "yes" when he finally popped the question ;)

Now you probably want to hear the actual engagement story! They both work together with their trucking company. So he proposed in one of the trucks! I always love hearing the different stories behind a proposal! We photographed their engagement session, so naturally we went to take photos there. It was such a fun session, as they included their kids, Chloe and Taylor. Plus the dogs!

Speaking of dogs...I LOVED how their dogs were there for the wedding, and had the freedom to roam free. They enjoyed the wedding festivities as much as the guests! Even with a white wedding dress and Jimmy Choo shoes on, the dogs had no problem just snuggling right up to Kala. During the first dance they were also close by enjoying the night right along with the couple. It was so special. These two have family from all around. Matt has a lot of family from Eugene, and Kala has family from Alaska. You could tell everyone was thrilled to be together celebrating their marriage! We can't go without mentioning the gorgeous flower arrangements designed by Kameo Flowers. They were lovely! Everyone was complimenting them all day. The stylists at Belu Salon did a fabulous job with the hair and makeup as well!

What a blissful day to have the opportunity to capture! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McDougal! The photos below are some of the highlights of the day. Click HERE to view ALL of the edited wedding images - available 4 weeks after the wedding.

Naches Wedding at American Homestead // Nakota + Jesse Chavez

Rose and Green Wedding

Rhiann and Haley photographed this wedding at American Homestead in Naches on June 16th. Nakota and Jesse were surrounded by their loving family and friends as they joined together as one. After dating for 9 years it was finally time to seal the deal! They have the cutest 1 year old daughter, Amiya, who was one of the flower girls. Nikole, her niece and age 10, was a junior flower girl. Elly and Viviana, both age 7, and Davenie, age 2, who are all her nieces, were also flower girls. They were so pretty! Jayden, age 4, and Adrian, age 2, both nephews, were the ring bearers. As you can probably tell by now, Nakota and Jesse are all about family :) To put it into perspective, we did an all inclusive family portrait during the reception. We noticed there were only about 10 people left in the building during this! :)

Photographing the bridal party was very entertaining. There was a total of 20 people. So we had lots to work with! Not to mention the rad rain happening...luckily everyone kept cheerful spirits and made the most of our situation! Nakota and Jesse were not shy of love and support from their dear friends.

Kerri from Kerri's Cakes made a beautiful cake. It was very yummy! The cake must have given everyone a sugar rush (maybe the alcoholic beverages helped too...!), because people were being thrown in the air left and right! Pretty sure Jesse had his feet in the air more than on the ground throughout the course of the reception. Even the children were being tossed in the air!

They danced the La Vibora De La Mar, which is a snake like dance where the couple starts on chairs and attempts to not get knocked over. It got pretty rowdy, especially when the boys went! Traditionally, they throw the groom in the air after this dance, then take him away, strip him of his clothes, bring his clothes back to the Bride, and she has to find them. He got away only losing his socks and shoes.

Congratulations to the happy couple, Mr. and Mrs. Chavez!

Union Gap Wedding at Spring Creek Homestead // Alexandria + Bo Voelker

Blush Pink and Olive Green Wedding

Keith and Cloey photographed Alexandria and Bo's wedding on June 9th. The ceremony was held at the beautiful Holy Family Catholic Church, with the reception festivities taking place at Spring Creek Homestead in Union Gap. What an eventful day this was! Let's just say there was a rain storm during the reception...that turned into a hail storm. When does that happen in Yakima?! I hear they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, so these two were showered in that ;)

Alexandria is an elementary teacher, and Bo is a mechanic. We heard several times throughout the day how passionate she is about her job! These two go way back to the 8th grade...where they kissed ;) Nothing serious came out of their relationship until Alexandria graduated college. They started hanging out, Bo went to a football game of Alexandia's brother, Brian, and the whole family got the hint that they were dating. Now look where they are...happily married!

I love when Brides have a wedding coordinator. It makes the day run much smoother! Greg, who teaches at the same school as Alexandria, was a huge help! His decorating skills were superior. He took an old chandelier and replaced the glass with flowers. It was gorgeous. To end the night the Bride and Groom shared a bubble dance instead of a send off. It was so fun!

Guys, this bridal party was seriously amazing. Alyssa, the Bride's sister, was her maid of honor. She was the sweetest! Her friends Margo, Kiyana, Katelyn, Micaela, and Karli made sure Alexandria was always taken care of. They were such a fun group of girls! Bo had his friend, Shane, as his best man. Friends, Logan, Carter, and Andy joined as the groomsmen. His brother, Bryan, and Alexandria's brother, who is also named Brian, were included in the bridal party as well.

It is always interesting to see how different crowds celebrate during the reception. These guys loved dancing!! It was a night full of laughter. The father of the Bride, Eric, was such a cool guy. Three times throughout the night we witnessed his love for Alexandria:
  • He gave the sweetest toast to his daughter and son in law. Laughter and tears from most everyone!
  • Eric and Alexandria performed the BEST father daughter dance ever. They had choreographed dances to a compilation of songs. Dancing to "Single Ladies" and wearing sunglasses were involved. Everyone was on their feet cheering!
  • This one wouldn't have been possible without the groomsmen, Andy, and his sweet songwriting skills...Andy sang an Irish Pub song while Eric played the guitar. Another showstopper from the night!
  • We had a wonderful time spending the day with these two and their sweet families. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Voelker!

Weston Wedding at Winn Homestead Events // Annie + Travis Gabriel

Plum and Grey Wedding

Tavis and I photographed Annie and Travis' wedding on June 9th in Weston, OR. There were so many great things about this day I don't know where to start! Even though Annie and I have only been together a handful of times, photographing her wedding felt like I was spending the day with an old friend.

First, this venue is so awesome. Winn Homestead is an old 1916 barn and a farm that has been in the family since the 1800's. Preston, the owner, is so friendly and accommodating. It's so refreshing to work alongside vendors who are just as passionate about being there for the couple. He gave us a ride on the golf cart for photos and was so patient in the rain and even brought towels to help keep everyone and everything dry.

Travis and Annie are a great pair. One thing I loved about them is that they both seemed to be truly present in the moment all day long. Lots of happy tears came at different points throughout the day. I see lots of ceremonies but this one was noteworthy...there were special guest speakers from meaningful people in their lives, including her dad, Bob. I even teared up at one point!

This couple was intentional about keeping Christ as the center of their wedding and marriage. Instead of a traditional guest book, they had guests highlight their favorite Bible verse and sign in the Bible. During the ceremony the crowd joined in to sing "Come Thou Fount" which filled up the barn like a little glimpse of praises in heaven! They also took communion together right before the ceremony.

The speeches. It started with Mary Lynn, Annie's mom. These two are best friends. Mary Lynn was very surprised and touched to be chosen as Annie's "Mother of Honor", plus have a front row seat to all the wedding action. I loved Mary Lynn's speech so much! About how much love she has for her daughter and how much they have prayed over her, her life, and her spouse. It really spoke to my mamma heart! Then I cried for a second time. After that speech, it was followed by Travis' brother and then Annie's brother. Those two had the crowd going with some funny stories!!

This wedding had FOUR couples present that we have been a part of! Brian and Melissa in 2010, Travis and Chelsea in 2013, Stephanie and Steve in 2014 and now Travis and Annie in 2018! I got everyone together for a photo which also made me very happy!

Those are some of the highlights, and overall it was an amazing day. Oh, PS. the barn smelled like lavender and they had an Italian soda bar and I also loved both of those things :)
